POND Studios is led by Dervla Clarke, who has over 20 years experience in Brand Strategy, Communications and Visual Design. Working with clients in both the USA and Europe, Dervla puts together a bespoke team for each project to best meet the client's needs.
DERVLA CLARKE, DIRECTOR
Dervla has been immersed in the branding and design field ever since she graduated from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin with a degree in Visual Communication. Dervla moved to San Francisco after graduation and worked at an award-winning design studio for several years before starting her own branding practice. Dervla also studied in the renowned Multimedia Studies Program at San Francisco State University. She created branding campaigns for many tech start-ups in San Francisco during this time, including the Webby Awards.
Dervla re-located to New York and was a partner in boutique design studio RockPaperPixel with co-founder Tod Wohlfarth for ten years. Dervla and Tod created successful branding campaigns and visual identities for a wide range of clients, from large tech companies like Yahoo! to award winning cocktail bars and restaurants. Dervla was also a Visiting Instructor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn for seven years, teaching in Pratt's Undergraduate Communications Design program.
Now based back in Dublin, Dervla also spends a lot of time in Berlin, while still working with a large base of U.S. clients.
